Avv. Prof. Piergiorgio Casati, LL.M.

Prof. Piergiorgio Casati is the head of project finance group and regularly assists lenders and sponsors in financing major transactions and in the structuring of projects. He also assists domestic and foreign investors in M&A transactions, joint-ventures, development projects and secondary market deals both in the infrastructure and energy sector (oil and gas, photovoltaic, wind, hydro energy).
Prof. Casati is widely recognized not only for his technical and legal capabilities but also for his deep understanding of the market dynamics. He is regularly involved in assisting institutions and stakeholders with respect to legislative reforms, contractual standardisations and issues of general interest in the relevant market.
He is particularly recognized for his expertise in regulatory matters, development and financing of projects, transmission and transportation networks, ports and airport facilities, hospitals and healthcare, motorways, gas storage and LNG projects, renewable energy, natural resources and local utilities.
Graduated, maxima cum laude, in law in 1988.
He is licensed to practice as a Rechtsanwalt and is also licensed to practice in the United States.
Before joining Avocom, Prof. Casati has collaborated with leading Italian and international firms.
He has held, as Adjunct Professor, courses in Private International Law at various Universities including Heidelberg.
Author of several articles on specialised national and international law reviews, he frequently acts as speaker in various Italian and international conferences, institutional tables and public events on PPP, standardisation and legislative reforms.
